or Love, Romance, Chocolate eatin’ goodies or just all over goodness! I love the month of Febuary! Not because it is the time for husbands to sweat over what to do for Valentine’s Day but I love to see what they come up with next! I like to go to the bakery isle at the store and see all the wonderful edibles or check out the latest in HEART WEAR at the department store. Mostly, I like to look at all the lovey dovey poetic cards that hit the V-isle. Hubby and I a long time ago agreed that Valentine’s is not just about the ladies so we swap every year of who is planning the fun date. The problem is we are little behind in that department ever since we had little man. I honestly don’t remember whose turn is it and neither can he. Ha ha!!!! So we are planning it together this year. I already have one part of my gift to give him so I am doing pretty good considering it is only 2 weeks away. One of our most favorite part of the date night is the exchange of cards. It is fun to find one that fits that year or the relationship or just in general the personality of each other. Our first year together as an engaged couple I bought him one of those cute cards with children on it pretending to be dressed up as if they were couples. Below is a picture of the card.

What are your plans or traditions for this lovely day of romance? Any creative ideas that you are seeing to fruition? I would love to hear your thoughts. Happy Planning….

much love…

The last 2 weeks my son has really taken to praying! One night while eating dinner we had forgotten to pray over our meal. I paused for moment to say “oh, no we forgot to thank God for the food!”  Lil man looked up with delight to say “pray” and he bowed his head and folded his hands. My heart just exploded!! Now we pray for each item on our plate. Please excuse the half nakedness! We were eating a messy meal so it is easier for clean up to remove the shirt. Somehow food ends up in strange places. It really depends on the meal. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Here we are praying about our cheesy chips. I think everyone should Thank God for cheesy chips!!! Don’t you?

Here is another one from the first night of praying! He really likes to bow his head all the way down. I think it is to make sure the prayers are heard(lol)!

A couple of weeks ago hubby and I got away for a “romantic getaway!” We had a great time! The hotel we stayed at was sooooooo romantic that it was surrounded by beautiful country-side. I am not sure if I worded that right but you get the idea(wink-wink). We treated ourselves to one of the top five restaurants in the U.S., BIGA on the Bend. It was located off of none other than the river walk. Let me just say it was different but soooo good! Hubby had duck with fancy sauce and I had rack of lamb. Dessert was served in a teny tiny shot glass on a huge plate surrounded by fancy chocolate writings with swirls. The two nights that we did stay at the hotel, they had homemade smores being roasted on a open fire pit outside the hotel. That was fun! The river walk was romantic but the kid in me really wanted to get back to the smores. Hubby knew it too! The hotel had all its Christmas decorations up so we got a few fun pictures to remember. Here are a few to share!

Last week I helped a friend out by watching her son for a night and half a day. I think my son thought I had brought in a play-mate for him. They had so much fun together! She actually came to pick up her son that early next morning but he did not want to leave. Plus, they were playing so well together that I told her to go on and let them play. Here are a few pics from their day together!

he gives me nothing but pure JOY!

they come in different sizes! whether your feet are size 15 or 5 =0)!

Well, babe I know you don’t like me to post pics of us on here but today I thought you wouldn’t mind.

Happy Anniversary! 9 years and still counting!!!

It is hard to believe it has been 9 years. It seems as if 9 years is nothing but considering all that we have been through, you would think it would be much longer than that.

Just in our first 2 years of marriage we’ve experienced 3 moves, a church split, severe health issues that almost put me in the hospital, me not be able to work due to health issues, a job loss,  doctor giving me the okay to work part time on the day hubby lost his job, doctors telling us we would never have a baby, a new church home, new careers, and yet another move. WHEW, I am tired!

The next few years we lost loved ones, watched divorce happen and marriages begin. We had many many doctor visits about having a family. Traveled alone. Traveled with friends. Bought a house. Made it a home. Watched babies being born. Seen the death of three babies. Attended the funeral of one. Cried with friends. Laughed with them too. Said goodbye to friends. Prayed over our nephew who was born at 24 weeks. Prayed over our friends baby who was born at 23 weeks. Mourned with our friends who had miscarriages. Babysat many many kids. Said goodbye to a career. Heart attacks of loved ones. Camping. More traveling. Rejoicing of our own pregnancy. Rejoicing of our friend’s pregnancy. Grateful for a healthy baby boy. Grateful for the phone call from a friend’s long awaited adopted of their baby daughter. Prayer groups. Play dates. The screams and laughters of a toddler. Family trips.

That is just to name a few. Good times and bad. I am so grateful to have walked along your side during those precious times.

Love you….
